The
INSTAKEY® system lets you re-key your own locks by simply inserting and turning a key 180 degrees.
That's it. There's nothing to disassemble, no one to call, and no tools are needed.
TO RE-KEY: A
notched step change key is inserted into the cylinder and turned 180
degrees. Removing the key brings with it the disengaged wafer,
rendering all previous keys in that series inoperable. All this is done
while the key remains in place in the door!
1. Step change key displaces wafer.
THE SECRET: A patented method of removing glued wafer stacks from multiple chambers of a lock cylinder - one wafer at a time.
2. Turning key disengages and captures wafer.
THE RE-KEYING PROCESS: Each
computer generated keying series allows up to 12 keys to be loaded into
the cylinder distributed among grand, master, and pass key levels.
3. Returning key to original position leaves modified pin.
MULTIPLE LEVEL CHANGES: The
removal of wafers from different stacks in multiple chambers allows the
change of any level - grand, master, pass, even interchangeable core
control keys - without affecting the operation or keying structure of
any other level.
RE-PINNING: Once
all wafers have been removed, the cylinder can be reloaded with a new
and totally different series of changes. No new hardware - no lapse in
security.
IT'S UNIQUE: Innovative technology. Some may even say it is revolutionary. But all users of
InstaKey® can say "It really is that simple!".
