| Blue Dot Connectivity 1-Wire USB Connection The ibutton reader is attached to a cable with an iButton interface on one end and a connector USB interface on the other, enabling communication between the Sync iButton keys and your PC. The receptor sticks to any convenient spot on the front of the PC. The Sync iButton can transfer data with a touch, or can snap into the receptor and dwell. Sync Key (Programming Key) The Sync iButton acts as a data conduit between a lock that is not hard-wired to a network and your Web-linked PC. You simply download instructions from the software into the Sync iButton and then transfer them to the lock. Similarly, the Sync iButton can also ferry the lock's log back to the PC for uploading to a database. Inside the Eternity Lock is the Lock Processor from UCA. The iButton reader is actually a 1-Wire® transceiver that relays instructions to the processor at a touch from iButton keys. When the user presses the iButton key to a glowing reader, the processor reads the iButton's memory to check for a valid key identification, unlatches the door, logs the entry and relocks automatically after a predetermined time. Each press of an iButton Key to the Receptor causes the lock to change state (to lock or unlock). The lock memory has room for identifying up to 1000 keys. |
